Larry Lippman | Sunrise Volunteer
Larry has lived most of his life in the Hewlett-East Rockaway neighborhood, where in the third grade he met his life long friend, Larry Levine—a major influence in his philanthropic endeavors for Sunrise Day Camp. After a successful career in the apparel industry, Larry retired in 2007, and has become a familiar face in the community. He and his lovely wife of forty-four years, Judy, are very active at the Seawane Country Club. Larry enjoys all sorts of sports, good friends, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Larry was introduced to Sunrise Day Camp at the Samuel Levine Memorial Golf Classic event a few years ago when a Sunrise camper moved him with a touching speech. Thankful and hopeful for the health and well being of his own grandchildren, Larry knew that he wanted to help the children and grandchildren of others—those less fortunate than his own.
Last summer Larry gave of himself in a most extraordinary way. Combining his passion for children and tennis, he created Sunrise Day Camp’s first ever tennis program. Working directly with the children, Larry felt immensely gratified by the bright smiles, laughter, and pure enjoyment his program provided. The children of Sunrise are grateful to Larry for his generous spirit and the fabulous program.
