Since 2006, Sunrise Day Camp has been safely meeting the needs of children with cancer for fun and adventure while allowing them to continue their medical treatments and enjoy the comfort and security of their homes at night. The first and only dedicated day camp in the nation for children with cancer and their siblings, Sunrise is offered free of charge to participants. The fun, friendship and happiness continue year round through various camp-like programs and hospital services, including Sunrise Sundays and Fun-days, activities scheduled monthly and on school holidays, and Sunrise on Wheels.

Sunrise Day Camp is in affiliation with The Brooklyn Hospital Center, The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital, New York Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children’s Health and New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, NYU’s Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center, Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, Stony Brook University Medical Center and Winthrop University Hospital Cancer Center for Kids.

Sunrise Day Camp is a program of the Friedberg JCC and is located on the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Wheatley Heights, New York.

Schedule of the Day*

Seawane Country Club and Rockaway Hunting Club Hewlett Harbor, NY Lawrence, NY

The festivities of the day will be held at the Seawane Country Club. Golf will be played at both the Seawane and Rockaway Hunting Clubs. Those who respond by June 28th will have their choice of golf courses. Golfers will provide their own transportation between the two clubs. See response card for details.

9:00 a.m. Registration and Brunch at Seawane Country Club
11:00 a.m. Golfers Depart for the Rockaway Hunting Club
12:00 p.m. Shotgun at Rockaway Hunting Club
12:30 p.m. Shotgun at Seawane Country Club
5:30 p.m. Cocktails & Dinner at the Seawane Country Club

Individual golfers are welcome. Please indicate your handicap and we will place you. Men and women may play together or individually.
Food and refreshments served throughout the day.
Casual dinner attire
