Rabbi Ian and Rebbetzin Katie Lichter
Rabbi Ian and Katie Lichter moved to Memphis just over a year ago and began their tenure leading our congregation as our Senior Rabbi and Rebbetzin. From the day they arrived here last August, they hit the ground running. In their short time here, they have developed many strong relationships with our congregants, and they have created a palpable excitement within our shul and across our community. We invite you to experience that excitement and celebrate the momentum at their installation dinner on November 12th.

Together Rabbi Lichter and Katie have brought a genuine feeling of warmth, increased Torah learning and a true love of all Jewish people and the state of Israel to Baron Hirsch and the greater Memphis Jewish community. Central to the Rabbi's early accomplishments is his belief that Baron Hirsch should strive to serve its entire congregation, while he fully dedicates himself to the spiritual and physical well-being of our diverse congregation. Rabbi Lichter has already demonstrated himself to be a caring and compassionate resource for many members in times of celebration and sorrow. His inspiring sermons and dynamic classes are rooted in Torah, are thought-provoking and seek to help all levels navigate Jewish tradition.

In addition to being the perfect partner to Rabbi Lichter in leading our shul, Katie has also quickly become a most beloved teacher at the Margolin Hebrew Academy, serving as both an early childhood and elementary school teacher.

While Rabbi Lichter and Katie have already had an exponential positive impact on our shul and community, they are anxious to get to know even more of our members and partner with them to continue growing and enhancing our shul and its programs. We feel so blessed to have Rabbi Lichter, Katie and their beautiful children, Zechariah, Yonina, Gavi and Yaffa, as part of our Baron Hirsch family. Please join us on November 12 as we come together to acknowledge how much the Rabbi and Katie have re-energized our shul and set us on a path of continued growth and a most exciting future for our congregation.
