The Board of the Bergen County High School of Jewish Studies (BCHSJS)

has created the Walter Ramsfelder Exemplary Service Award.

Walter was a visionary, helping found our school.

He served as BCHSJS President and as a member

of almost every committee of the Board.

He was a guiding light for the Board. He could always calm

even the most tense situation and enable everyone involved to compromise.

Above all, he was a mensch!

As Harvey Jaffe's three children attended BCHSJS, he took an interest

in how the school functioned. He joined the Board and served

as its President for many years, helping the school to grow and to prosper.

We miss his energy, creativity, humor, and his willingness to always roll-up his sleeves . For Harvey, no challenge was too large or task too small.
