Jean Quint Memorial Award: Vicky Shizgal

After graduating Hebrew Academy in 1987, Vicky went to Machon Gold Seminary in Israel and then to Concordia University where she got a degree in Child Studies. In 1992, she married Jimmy Shizgal and is now the proud mom of Sarah (and David), Josh and Adam and the super proud Bubbie of Aliyah Dina.

 
In 1993, Vicky started and co-chaired the Ayelet chapter with Sari Drazin. Her dedication to Emunah is something she was raised with her entire life. Both her mother, and her mother-in-law are past recipients of this very same award. Vicky has co-chaired many past events, such as auctions and Family-in-Israel Dinners. She also plays the role of photographer at many of our events, always willing to give her time to help out.

 
Vicky worked as a teacher at Solomon Schecter preschool (where she taught her co-honouree, Estee) as well as a teacher at the YMWHA. She was Program Director at the Beth Israel Beth Aaron Synagogue. From 2000 to 2007, she was the director of Camp Chaverim, an orthodox co-ed day camp she founded.  In 2008, Vicky became the Director of Camp Moshava, the only Bnei Akiva sleepaway camp in Canada, where she continues to work until this day to instill a love for Israel and the Torah.

 

Vicky's devotion to Emunah and its ideals of Religious Zionism, as well as her dedication to the Jewish Community, both in Canada and Israel make her the perfect recipient of this award.

Lilly Ronn Young Leadership Award: Estee Rossdeutscher
Estee was born and raised in Montreal. After graduating from Herzliah High School,

she received her Bachelors of Science from McGill University. In November 2010, she married Eric Rossdeutscher and together they have 4 beautiful children, Yoni Meir, Elie Noam, Daniella Sara and Noa Gabriella. 

Estee is always willing to help the children of Emunah whenever she can. She co-chaired the underground city challenge game and helped to ensure the success of the event. She also chaired the 24 hour Sderot campaign last year, helping to raise much needed funds for the Emunah Counselling Centre in Sderot.  

 

Estee volunteered with Chai Lifeline and helped chair their first grand event in Montreal. She volunteers for MADA and helps with the annual planning of the young women's event. She sits on the youth and programming committees at Congregation TBDJ.  She is very involved in the Azrieli Talmud Torah school where her children are students as a parent ambassadorand Home & School member.  Estee's volunteerism goes beyond the Jewish community. In university, she had the great privilege of organizing and leading a humanitarian medical trip to Panama, to help impoverished communities by offering them medical aid and support. 

 

She is a shining example of the future of Emunah in Montreal, which makes her the ideal recipient of this award.

To Estee Rossdeutscher, we have known and loved you since before you were born and we have had the real zechut and nachas to watch you grow into a beautiful, amazing, and talented young lady. We are beyond proud of you for all your heartfelt community involvement, incredible accomplishments and especially tonight as you receive a most worthy recognition with the Lilly Ronn Young Leadership Award
 
To Vicky Shizgal, you are a true role model both in your professional and personal life with your exemplary devotion to instilling the next generation with Jewish Values through their camping experience and with your inspirational involvement with Emunah. We applaud you this evening for your impactful dedication to our community and for receiving this most well deserved honour of the Jean Quint Memorial Award
