Temple Israel - Cantor Larry Tiger
 
Cantor Larry Tiger was born in Brooklyn, New York and received a Bachelor’s of Sacred Music and was ordained at Hebrew Union College. He also holds a Masters of Music degree from Montclair State University. His first cantorial position was at Congregation Beth El in Norfolk, Va. He held several other positions in New York and New Jersey before retiring as a full time hazzan. He ultimately became a successful real estate developer in New Jersey.

He returned to Norfolk in 2005 and joined Temple Israel, where he has always been an active member. He generously donated his services and served as the cantor for High Holidays for
six years. Subsequently, he trained his stepdaughter, Jennifer, an accredited vocalist, to successfully become the cantorial soloist and klei kodesh.

Larry has been an active member of the Board of Directors and has served as co-chair of the temple’s  fundraising committee and on the Security committee.

He has three children who live in New Jersey and is now married to Beverlee Tiger. Together, they have seven beautiful grandchildren.
