Ken Levine was born in Kane, PA, was bar mitzvah’d  in Springfield, MA, and moved to the Washington, DC area in 1975.  He joined Beth El in 1984 and was married to Diana Huffman in 1987.  Diana and Ken have one daughter, Laura, who lives in Colorado.

Ken is a lawyer who has held various positions in the federal government. In private practice, he has represented major US and foreign corporations and trade associations before the federal government.

He has served on the Board of both the JCRC of Greater Washington and Beth El.  Ken also has been an important member of the Beth El refugee committee which, along with two churches, recently welcomed a family from the Congo to the Washington, DC area.  Previously, he had been Chairman of Pillars of Beth El, a group established to help those members of the synogogue who were in financial straits.  Ken also has moderated several political debates and candidate forums organized by the Men’s Club at Beth El, including those for Montgomery County Executive during this past year.

However, most important to his Beth El involvement is his participation as a slow footed first baseman on the Beth El Men’s Club softball team for over 20 years!
