On a personal note, you have both modeled and represented to us, all of these years,
what being a rebbe and a mechanech are all about. As a child growing up
within walking distance of your home, I was able to see the constant influx of talmidim
that came to spend Shabbosim and Yomim Tovim with you. Your devotion to
every single one of them, along with our choshuva aunt Syma, was truly amazing to watch.
Being in chinuch ourselves, we really appreciate and admire how you would give up
your family time for all those who needed and wanted to spend
an uplifting Shabbos and Yom Tov experience with you.
I have personally watched a tremendous amount of mesiras nefesh displayed
over all these years. How many boys changed their post-high school plans because of
your meaningful classroom discussions? How many boys have led a more meaningful,
Torah-based life because of what you stand for? Your blend of holding on to the principles
of your rebbeim of yesteryear and understanding modern society and current world trends
is the perfect recipe for giving over the mesorah to your talmidim.
