Jessica and Meyer Orbach
Guests of Honor

Since moving to Englewood in 2004, Meyer and Jessica Orbach have been cornerstones in the Moriah and Ahavath Torah communities.  Having both grown up in Modern Orthodox homes and educated in yeshivot, Meyer and Jessica have been devoted philanthropists to local charities, different yeshivot, and many Israeli and international organizations and agencies.
Meyer graduated from Yeshiva of Flatbush in 1993 and Jessica graduated from Bruriah in 1996. Meyer is the chairman of the Orbach Group, a nationwide real estate investment firm based in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. In 2015, Meyer and Jessica made an outstanding donation in memory of Meyer’s late mother z”l  Yocheved Orbach. With the renaming of the school campus “The Yocheved Orbach Campus,” Meyer and Jessica will continue to keep her memory alive through the beauty of yeshiva education.

Meyer and Jessica are the proud parents of Eve (Moriah '14), Lea (Moriah '17), Boaz (Moriah '21) and Ezekiel (Moriah '24).

Ali ‘95 and Jason Auerbach
Young Alumni Leadership Award

Ali (née Budin, Moriah ‘95) and Jason Auerbach live in Englewood with their children, Henry (Moriah ‘23) and Lucy (Moriah ‘26).  Ali and Jason met at the University of Pennsylvania, where Jason was the president of Penn Hillel. Post-graduation, Ali went on to New York University for her Masters in Clinical Nutrition and Jason received a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.  Jason is currently an Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group.  Ali worked as the Registered Dietitian for Slim-Fast for seven years until this past year, when the company relocated to Florida.  Luckily, Ali was able to delve further into her volunteer work at Moriah.  She now counts Box Tops, serves on the School-Lunch Committee, the MAP Board, the Admissions Committee, the Lifecycle Committee, co-chairs the Spiritwear Committee, and is the First Grade Class Liaison.  Ali and Jason are strong advocates of Moriah and are always welcoming to new families in the community and acquainting them with the advantages of a Moriah education.

Rabbi J. Shelley Applbaum, Z”L Service Award

In 1986, Rabbi J. Shelly Applebaum hired Morah Bracha into the Moriah family. Since then Morah Bracha has taught over 600 kindergarten students, including children of students. Her classroom has been a loving and nurturing environment that fosters educational growth.  Over the years, Morah Bracha has been privileged to work with Moriah's many outstanding administrators, co-teachers and colleagues. Bracha and her husband Mark ("Mr. Morah Bracha") are the proud parents of Etan (Moriah '02) and Kayla, Shifra (Moriah '04) and Benjy, Yaffa (Moriah '07) and Ronit (Moriah'10), as well as proud grandparents of Ahuva, Zevy and Ayelet. The love the parents, students and teachers have towards Morah Bracha is immeasurable. Even after the students move up to 1st grade and beyond, you can find them stopping in to see Morah Bracha for a quick hug or to share a short story.
