The 62nd Annual Yonkers St. Patrick’s Day Parade will take place on McLean Avenue on Saturday,
March 18, 2017.  The Parade Committee is proud to announce that Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York is the 2017 Grand Marshal and he will lead the Parade, starting at 1:00 p.m.
 
Cardinal Timothy Dolan is the oldest of five children born to Shirley and Robert Dolan.  His Catholic education from elementary through college seminaries took place in Missouri.  He completed his priestly formation at the Pontifical North American College in Rome.  Since his Ordination to the Priesthood in 1965, Cardinal Dolan has served the Church in Missouri, Washington, D.C. and Rome.  He was appointed Archbishop of Milwaukee by Pope Saint John Paul II in 2002.  Cardinal Dolan was named Archbishop of New York in February 2009 by Pope Benedict XVI, who announced on January 6, 2012 that Timothy Dolan was to be appointed to the College of Cardinals.  The Parade Committee is delighted to have Cardinal Dolan as our 2017 Grand Marshal.

The 2017 Annual Dinner Dance will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Empire City Casino, Yonkers Raceway, Good Time Room.  His Eminence, Timothy Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York will not be present but will appear in a video presentation.  He succeeds our 2016 Grand Marshal, Patrick Quinn.  The eight Aides will be introduced by Michael Doran, Jr., Parade Board Chairman.  Reservations are $95 per person, which includes a dinner choice of prime rib or salmon (chicken or vegetarian options available upon request), an open bar and complimentary valet parking.  The Andy Cooney Band will entertain you, and traditional Irish Dancers will perform. 
 
Please return the enclosed reservation card by February 28, 2017, indicating the names of those with whom you wish to be seated.  Table assignments are on a first-paid basis, so make reservations early.  No reservations will be confirmed without full payment.  This year, both the Dinner and Journal have 2 payment options.  Mail option: Please make all checks for the Dinner and Journal payable to “Yonkers St. Patrick’s Day Parade on McLean Avenue.”  Online option: You may pay for dinner reservations and journal ads online A 3% charge will be added to online payments.
 
As you know, the Annual Dinner Dance and Parade Journal provide the majority of the funds needed to run the Parade.  All our funds come from our loyal supporters.  We do not accept any State or Federal subsidies and are extremely grateful to the City of Yonkers who provides Police, Recreation and DPW services.
