President's Message

Welcome to An Evening of Laughter! We will relax and experience the joy of humor and applaud an incredible agency whose sole purpose is to provide support to those in need in our midst.  Laughter is an important part of the healing process and JFS MetroWest is here for our community each day, providing care, comfort and responses to personal crises. We are delighted, with this event, to be able to take a break from the stressors that bring people to our agency, and to offer our community an evening of entertainment and celebration.

We are especially grateful this evening for the opportunity to honor Nancy and Bob Eskow and Carrie and Jed Nussbaum for their years of leadership on the JFS MetroWest Board of Trustees, as well as their generosity and support, both personal and financial, of our agency.  It is exciting to see the community come out to congratulate these two most-deserving couples and their dedication and commitment to the mission of Jewish Family Service.

This evening, we are also eager to introduce the community to our new CEO, Diane K. Squadron, PsyD.  In the short amount of time that Diane has been with our agency, she has proven herself to be thoughtful and caring, and is already helping us to see our agency, and the services we provide to the community, with fresh eyes.  We look forward to working with her and having her share and implement her vision for JFS.

Our Evening of Laughter Co-Chairs – Andrea Bier and Lisa Lindauer, Rachel Braverman - Journal Advisor & Co-Chair of NextGen@JFS - along with their energetic and dedicated committee, have been working tirelessly for months with the guidance of Anita Millman, Director of Development, and Sylvia Heller, Coordinator of Community Programs, to plan and execute all of the details for this evening’s gala event. We owe them our gratitude and thank them all for a job well done!

The financial success of this evening would not exist without all of YOU – our supporters. I am grateful and thank you for your generous contributions to An Evening of Laughter. We hope you will be inspired to learn more about JFS.  I want to remind you that we are here for you, as the community’s caregiver, to help you with your own needs, or the needs of a friend or neighbor. If you are interested in learning how you can further support one of our programs that might have special and personal meaning to you, whether it is mental health counseling for children or teens, care management for older adults, consultation services for caregivers, safety net services for the indigent, or services for women in high conflict relationships (just to name a few of our forty programs and services!), feel free to reach out at any time, or check out our website, www.jfsmetrowest.org.

By joining us here tonight, you have demonstrated your support for us, and we hope that we have brought a bit of humor and a smile into your lives at An Evening of Laughter.

Thank you for making this evening so special!

Marion Medow,
President
